The Monterey Symphony's Season of the Piano continues January 25th through the 27th with a remarkable performances by Bulgarian pianist Anna Petrova in the third in the series called Introspection. Find performance time here.
At her North-American orchestral debut with conductor Philippe Entremont, Anna was praised for her “ultra-smooth playing style,” shortly followed by a second invitation after a last minute cancellation. Other conductors she has played with include Stanislav Ushev, Deyan Pavlov, Francisco Valero, Borja Quintas and Constantino Martínez Orts.
Her future engagements include solo recitals in USA, Bulgaria and Spain, and concerto performances with the Virginia Beach Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Kunkel, the Monterey Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Max Bragado-Darman, and the Symphony of the Kootenay’s conducted by Bruce Dunn.
She is the recipient of the Bulgarian Minister of Culture Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievements, and is currently in her first year of Doctoral studies at the Manhattan School of Music, in the studio of Andre-Michel Schub.
