A big THANKS to everyone who helped make Soft Rock KWAV 96.9 and Starbucks Toy Drive with Barry and Karen a big success this year. Our annual toy drive took KWAV to different Starbucks locations throughout the Central Coast collecting toys for children at Natividad Medical Center and the Walnut Street Women's Shelter. And, as always, our listeners responded generously. Thank to you to everyone who helped make this Christmas brighter for local children.
Holiday shoppers were treated to tons of activities the weekend of December 8th and 9th at the Del Monte Center in Monterey. Holiday choirs greeted shoppers with our door performances and there where shopping deals galore. Candy James and Soft Rock KWAV 96.9 broadcast from the center from Saturday afternoon.
One of the big opening events to Cherries Jubilee is Passport to Cherries in Old Town Salinas. Hundreds of classic car lovers enjoy a look at some of the coolest cars on the road while enjoying all that downtown Salinas businesses have to offer. Barry Brown and the KWAV Crew were right in the middle of it all sharing in the excitement.
A dozen of the area's best performers took to the Community Stage at the Monterey County Fair for KWAV's Central Coast's Got Talent. This amazing group of singers entertained the crowd for opening day of the fair.
